Charcuteria Ricositas

On Sundays, the farmers put on their best clothes and go to town, a two-hour walk from their farm. There, some go to church, others buy supplies, collect money from crops they’ve sold, and get a weekly dose of the news from friends and family members living in other parts of the municipality. At times, even such short trips as the one to Dabeiba haven’t been safe, so on days like today, the Balsita families cherish the opportunity to socialize with people from outside of the community.
